Yes it is perfectly legal to own a cupuchin monkey in the uk, however larger monkeys do require a dangerous animal license. Mr Blobber09 here is one of these know it all's who knows nothing (you know the type, they read a flyer on something and they think they are an expert. Try to actually find out what your talking about first Blobber before you comment, gimp!)
Hey ,yes it is, but if I were you I'd do some research and you've got to be
up for all the cleaning. They are really messy I used to have one in America.
TIP> THEY ARE QUITE DANGEROUS!!!!!

So you are aloud 2 have a capuchin monkeys in the uk then and can any one tell me where I could buy one from in the uk thank you
My friends friend has one and it is legal, and he has ordered one himself, they r hard work messy and smelly even though they are cute so before you buy please make sure you are ready for the hard work and commitment,x
I'm looking to buy a monkey can you tell me what kind of monkey I can buy that is not illegal?? Thanks, Laura
So, if it is legal, do you need a licence? And like a big house reserve for it?
I think that it is cruel to keep ANY animal captivated but if you don't buy the monkey someone else WILL so y not someone who knows they're going to give it a loving home?? Its gr8 being a do gooder and saying all the right things but unless you can really MAKE A CHANGE why stop someone from giving a loving home to a monkey that isn't going to go back to the wild EVEN IF YOU DON'T BE THE ONE TO BUY IT??... So I say buy it if you really want one but do your research before hand as I do believe they are hard work.
Please do not adopt a monkey. Animal welfare groups are working to get such animals back to the wild. Please consider donating to an animal welfare group which will take better care of animals than it is possible for private persons to do. Thank you.
Capuchins like all monkeys are social animals and should live in groups not as an individual pet, this is cruel (mentally) to the capuchin as they need to live in large enclosures not sheds or cages. It is totally irresponsible for people to buy them and the sooner the trade is banned the better. Get a dog instead.
The uk law says a lot of animals which are from the wild are not aloud to be kept as pets so the answer is no it is not aloud. As I would love to have the girls aloud as my pets but it's illegal to hold them against there will to.
Yes but you will get arrested
