Basset Hounds for sure ! Even though they are quite loud, they're great dogs !
German shepherd, husky, pomeranian-cross (not pomeranians on their own, only when they're crossed with something), saint bernards, I did a google search to get some more ideas and found this link: http://dogs.petbreeds.com/stories/5026/rare-cute-dog-breeds and I agree with all of them (except maybe #18 and #2). Most of my favourites seem to come from Sweden/Iceland/Norway and places similar to that.
Having said all this, I want it on the record that I am a cat person.
My Puggle:
Boxers! They are fun and keep their puppy attitude until the end. They are big cuddlers and think they are lap dogs. They are also extremely loyal and protective.
The big down side is they tend to get cancer more than any other breed. I have read that 40% of dogs with cancer are boxers. When I asked several vets about this statistic they have agreed with it. And from my personal experience, two if mine have had had cancer. Arabella had surgery just a few months ago to remove a cancer tumor. They also tend to have heart problems. My first one died of a heart attack and the second one we found out about his heart issues early enough on that it was well managed with medication. Arabella has been checked out and her heart is perfect. I will screen her once a year though to make sure it stays that way.
All three of my babies. Star, Arabella, and Thor. Aka Baby, Brat, and Bubby. This is from Arabella's first trip to the beach when she was just 7 months old. She will be 9 in December. My dog is a maltipoo. She's my favorite. There are so many dog breeds out there, its hard to really pick. They're all Beautiful in my eyes.
I prefer "lap" dogs, I currently have 2 Shi Tzu's I love them both and would have another when they are gone. They're getting old now, 11 and 12. We lost 2 this year (we had 4 of them) but they're great dogs, they actually need human attention and are dependant on it. They try to please their human "parents" as much as they can. A great dog!
Why bassett hounds of course! Dobermans are a great breed too!
