Your pretty much out of luck on that one. My rooster crows off and on all day long, and even at night right before he goes to roost. If you keep it shut up in the dark all the time that's not good for the rooster. Get hens only if you don't want to hear the rooster.

You should keep him in a small roofed box like a pet carrier or something like that. It need to be small so he can't raise his head to crow.

As for me and mine, you can't. My two roosters crow morning, noon, and yes, sometimes even at night if the moon is full. I've heard you can take to a vet and they'll be able to remove the 'crow-er' (hahaha), but don't know if it's true. Getting hens didn't help a bit, now they crow and fight. Ahhh, life on the farm. :)

You can't keep a rooster from crowing as long as it is alive. Roosters will crow at 2 in the morning if they feel like it. Good Luck

They can only crow if they can lift their head, if you put them in a box where they can only lie down....(enough air, though) and keep it dark, ....peace and quiet.

I have heard that an ultra sound frequency works.  It would be a sound that pitch higher than we can hear.  It's worth researching.

Roosters Crow its what they do! You can make their Chook house more sound proof and have a darkroom in there so to speak as they can start crowing from 4.30am...

Put it in a dark room and don't give it any food and if that does not work then get the axe ready!!
