I found a blue egg in the middle of the road when I was riding my bike out in the country, its April and I was wondering how long it will be before it hatches and how to take care of it, I'm 13 years old so please explain in the simplest way?

Well, that sounds likely to be a robins egg , the mother won't hatch it once it's touched by a human but you're best to keep it warm under some straw. 

But I highly doubt that it will be able to hatch, plus a baby bird would need to be fed worms as soon as it hatches, but that does sound like a robins egg... that could have fallen from a robins nest nearby or it could be a miscarriage that a robin had.
