Hey! Are they flies or moths. If you can kill one. That would be really good. Because if they are moths . Think indian meal moths. They come from pet foods and bird feed. They show up slow at first, but once they start to multiply big problem. They lay eggs>>that grow into worms>>then moths >>that continue the process.
My first access was just before moving and realized I had a problem. It came from a bag of dog food. So, the rule after that was really sealed containers and zapping gerbil food as soon as it came in to the house. Pretty scary though when I saw several walk on the box rim in the microwave. The wave did not kill them. (out to the garbage they went). so, I guess they are like the cockroach in the survival category. I'm sure someone will find a science research project in there somewhere.
But very funny story years latter with the same bug. My husbands boss had an african gray parrot at the office. Several nights in a row the security alarm went off. after the 2nd call there was a $75 charge for false alarms. I told greg to check for meal moths. He of course thought I was crazy, but they searched the office and found them all over in the worm stage. The funniest part was they had worked themselves into the motion detectors and that was what was tripping the alarms. The best part was they were also inside the computers. So, the "phrase they had bugs in the computer" needs no further explanation. The bird moved.---sheila
