I have a fairly young cat who leaves her tongue out more than any other cat I've ever owned. Just today, when I was playing with her, I noticed her tongue started coming out of her mouth. THe other times she's done it were when I was petting her, and when she was enjoying the sunshine, so my guess, for my Greta at least, is it's a sign she's enjoying herself.
It's okay it just means they're happy; don't be concern unless they start foaming at the mouth or something; sounds cute anyways once my sister's cat had her tongue sticking at and it was all the down to her chin :-)
It's just something they do once in a while. It sure is cute isn't it? I laugh when my cats do that. Hope this helps.
Don't worry, my cat does this too. She kind of acts like a dog (one day we came home finding her drinking out of the toilet, she likes her belly rubbed, sticks her tounge out) lol! But she usually does it when she wants her belly rubbed and wants attention. I think its just their way of not getting enough joy from purring so they stick their tounge out and purr. I don't know.
Because it's cute! I don't know
My cat has something growing on his tongue he is 5 years old
