Basically Echidnas do not have teeth but have a sticky tongue and they eat termites, , earthworms, and ants. With their sharp claws they can tear the nests of the termites and the ants.

Moreover, because of the presence of sticky tongue and absence of teeth they like some other small invertebrates as well like grubs, larvae and worms. You must be surprised about the small diet of them but interestingly, they eat 2 kilograms of termites in their one time meal!
