Well I don't know how to help you with the leaning but if you want to touch him, don't just run after him, go on your knees and put your hand up and slowly go to him when you get close put your hands down so he can smell them, if he leaves then don't try to touch him, you will just make it worst and he might try to bite or scratch you.
