The difference between alligators and crocodiles is
both in where they live and in the physical description.
Alligators are usually found in fresh water, are dark in
coloration and have a broad, somewhat rounded snout.
Due to a socket in the upper jaw, the fourth bottom tooth
(on each side) is not visable when the mouth is closed.
Crocodiles tend to prefer coastal areas having both
brackish and salt water.  They are more of a greenish gray
color and have skinny triangular snout.  Having no such socket,
the tale-tell teeth are always visable.
