Bleeding in dogs occurs during first stage of heat cycle. This stage is characterized by swelling of genitalia and bleeding. This can continue for 7-10 days. Breeding is possible after the cessation of bleeding. Heat cycle in dogs can start at the average age of 6-8 months. A dog can have 2 heat cycles in a year.
