Will A Male Dog Stop Humping Once Neutered?
Neutering a male dog will remove his urge to mate if there is a female in heat nearby. Some males might continue to 'hump' if it is more of a behavioral issue/done out of asserting dominance.
I have four yorkies two girls, two boys. The boys are old and have been neutered for over seven months. Recently one of my bitches went on heat. The older male is continuing to hump her even though he is done. He has nothing there but still continues to do it as it is still animal instinct but should still be discouraged.
