you have to keep playing with it. Your puppy will love you within a couple of weeks (since its new, you are a stranger to it)
With things like this, you are on your puppys time.
Pay attention to its needs. Hold it when it is scared. Feed it when hungry. Play with it when it is awake. Be sure to pet and praise good behavior.
Your puppy will like you well enough if you provide the needs of the puppy.
What is more important is that you love your puppy.
Be patient. Not sure why your puppy wouldn't like you .. Healthy and properly adjusted puppies like everyone. If yours is skittish or it's hard to get him to trust you, then it's not a matter of 'liking' you .. This puppy could have been abused or neglected, and could plausibly be demonsrating some trust issues because of it. If that is the case .. Then, you need to regain his trust in human kind. Be kind, be gentle but most of all be patient. You need to be able to identify emotional and behaviour issues caused from his past .. Like anxiety for example. He could also be displaying some issues due to other factors like scent (for example). Dogs have a very keen sense of smell .. and if you smell like something that provides him with a bad memory, he may shy away from you because of it. If you are overly nervous or tense, he could also be sensing that and THAT may be causing some issues.
