Can cats have a mood disorder like people?

Yes, I think cats can have mood problems too. We used to have a cat called Ciccio, who we adopted when he was 3-4 years old.

Although we used to fuss and pamper him, he never really liked being touched, and would often go wandering off on his own for days on end.

Eventually, he went out one day and never returned. We were never sure what was up with him, but he seemed like a troubled little guy, even though we loved him - so maybe he'd experienced something negative before he ended up with us, which may have affected his personality or demeanour.

I'm sure they can. I sure know that some dogs can ! My hound can be sweet as can be one minute and suddenly turn into a monster at other times. It is rare though but possible.

Definitely, they can sure. As we all know they can't say anything but they can express the bad or good mood.. So, it happens..
