Can humans get shingles from a dog with meningitis?

No. Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox...once you've had chickenpox, you are at risk to get shingles, the virus lays dormant along nerve pathways....when it becomes active, you'll notice blisters and pain in the affected area. That being said, to get shingles, one must first have had chickenpox.
