Badgers are part of the mustelidae family, which includes ferrets, otters, ermine, weasels, stoats, and famously, skunks. This includes an elongated body, short legs and, in the case of badgers, a short tail.
Badgers differ in appearance. In North America, they are grey with ears more on the side of their heads. In Britian, they are black with very pronounced stripes on their faces and ears more on the top of their heads. British badgers also have longer legs than their American cousins.
