Yes bread is fine stale or fresh as well as noodles and many other grain based foods.

If it isn't the bird will not eat it.

As long as you keep supplying them with the same use by date bread no problem just make sure that there is NO green fungas on the bread no good for us and NO good for the birdies LOL
