I ADOPTED A RED FOX AFTER BEING HIT BY OUR CAR... it has a broken leg and is very quite tame. I have splinted it's leg.... It will eat from my hand. It is about 3 months old. I have been feeding it cat food .. it seems to like it. But since I live in the country,I will be shooting squirrels and small bird for it once a week. I will be hunting for it untill it is better... And thing to say about that?????
The diet of Red Fox comprise of rodents, a variety of biomes from prairies and scrubland to forests settings, insects, worms, fruits, mice, birds, eggs and all other kinds of small animals. The red fox generally consumes around 1 kg food everyday. Red foxes that live in neighborhoods mainly depend on household waste and even rodents and birds that keep moving around these areas.
They mostly thrive in the lower latitudes, suburban and even urban environments both in Europe and in North America. They are found also in Eurasia, North Africa, India (Ladakh, Himalayas, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan and Gujarat), China, Japan and in Australia. The population of this animal is approximately 20 million.
They also eat dog food if it is left out. They like Apples, cucumber, carrots, fish, chicken and deer meat. That is just something I have noticed that the fox we have will eat. Sometimes eats a bug or two if he can catch them.
