Recovery after surgery for bowel obstruction requires at least 2-5 days in the hospital or up to the time when he will be able to eat and drink without vomiting. In hospital your dog is kept on the IV fluids and antibiotics. After 2-5 days he will be discharged from the hospital. Sutures removal will be after 8-10 days.
