If you cat has definitely been diagnosed with kidney problems, depending on his BUN and Creatnine levles, you may need to do more.  I know what a financial burden it can be as I just spend over $2,700 on my 10 year old cat....he was in pretty bad shape.  I can say proudly that he is doing 99% better now, but it was a long and widing path that lead to his recovery: Daily I.v.'s at home, iron, appetite accelerator and kidney medicine.  I wish you all the luck in the world.  I hope the B12 is enough and I pray for you and a miracle.

Pachina ,I am also a cat lover. As far as kidney is concerned I think b 12 is enough as it contain more effectiveness than steriods.
