I am a Breeder of high percentage wolfdogs. I live in SC and have been raiseing them for years. I have some puppies for sale now feel free to call me at 843-709-8646
I own a 1/2 timber, 1/2 arctic wolf and am stationed in Sc. I know you wont fool a vet when you take a wolf in for shots, etc....and to have a wolf as part of your family means taking care of it like a child. Checkups, meds, etc...I am currently looking for a new pup for mine to keep her company while I am at work and finding the right breeder has been a chore. A hybrid is something you definately want to be careful with, as crossing breeds has led to some ill distempers with some breeds. Hybrids are legal, but the responsibility isn't to be taken lightly. Owning a wolf isn't like a having a taco bell dog in your purse....they need more than a cute sweater to keep them happy......
Any wolf dog that is not already registered can be registered as a mutt. There are always ways around these retarted laws. I know also that there is at least two breeders in the state. I've had wolves since I was a kid in a state where it was illeagal and we always just claimed them as muts and they were infact pure timber wolves. On the other hand if you are not already knowledgable on how to take care of them and don't have the land to let them run don't even think about it.
If you want a wolf, there are alternatives. There is a dog breed that is half wolf and half german shepherd. It is called a Saarloos Wolf Hound. You might want to look into it, if it is not already too late and you have already bought one.
I believe it is illegal to purchase wolf pups or even to have possession of them. Have you checked into this?
I am not sure why you would want a wolf for a pet. Any wolf rescue will discourage you from purchasing a wolf puppy, as most are illegally bred. Before you buy a wolf, I recommend going to a wolf rescue and seeing what happens when
You can own and purchase a WOLF in SC...Read the laws! It is ILLEGAL to have 1 transported in the state of SC..
