This sounds serious. Hives are an indication of allergic reaction, you don't want your animal to go into shock. Call the vet asap and see if there is something you can get at the drugstore to administer to him. If vet not available, call a pharmacist, in drugstore, tell him or her what is going on and what you can purchase.
