Dogs will pant and shake secondary to anxiety, pain, fear, or stress. If this behavior continues over the next several hours I would be very concerned your dog is experiencing physical pain and discomfort. Monitor your dog closely for development of new signs--vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, lethargy, etc. Seek veterinary medical attention if this behavior continues or new problems develop.

My dog had this yesterday and it was extremely upsetting. He started shaking and then panting and doing some strange things, going into rooms and sitting in the corner. Then later in the day I heard him crying out and he was acting weird. Really panting hard for a long time. Then it finally stopped. Took him to the vet the same day in the morning right after it happened, and there were no physical issues, tested the blood and nothing. Slight elevation in pancreas test so doing another test. Last night after 6pm and today he's been fine.

Some things people mentioned were poisoning, intestinal blockage, cushing's disease....I have no idea at this point why it happened and hope it doesn't come back!

My 12 yr old jack russell similar; she loved walks, was very active and her decline seems within a matter of weeks, limps back legs wobbly, collapses on them, just walking round house, can't jump up on anything.  I have been to vets, awaiting blood test and she recommended glucosamine for early arthritis; told she wasn't in pain but deterioration seems marked to me in short space of time and I hate the constant shaking, poor thing.  My dog had torn ligament 2 years ago but had recovered well.  Have been scanning internet myself for answers - other suggestions include luxating patella??, arthritis etc. Good luck, hope you find cure

Try to change the food of your pet and give it high quality easily digestible food. Some times dogs get an attack of tremor that can be treated by avoiding exercise stress or excitement. Check its temperature regularly and watch if it is losing weight or not. You should consult a vet but make it sure before going to vet that your dog is not hit by some hard object.

My pup loved going in the car, he use to just sleep, now he shakes and pants in the car. I take him to work with me everyday so I'm worried now in case he is stressed about going in the car.

My puppy also shakes, yawns, whimpers when in the car even if it is not moving.  I've tried sitting in the car for 30-45 minutes several times without going anywhere, but doesn't seem to help.
Any suggestions.?
