If there is any concern that this bump is not normal it should be examined by a veterinarian. The kennel's concern may be misplaced but on the other hand they see a lot of dogs and may have noted something abnormal. Dobermans do have a prominent ridge on their skull and yes the skull does grow as dogs develop.
