I have fibromyalgia and hypermobility syndrome  and I still keep my riding up, although not nearly to the same degree that I used to (I used to compete in endurance riding).  I do tend to do mostly walking with only the odd trot and canter and my pony (whom I have had since a foal) was  used for 2 years by the Riding for the Disabled so is obviously very safe.  Whilst riding does cause me extreme pain, I feel it is worth it as I feel so much better mentally.  I do try to ride at least once a week and hoping to up that to twice, but obviously there are lots of times when I am just too sore to cope with even the once.  I find being around the ponies, even without riding helps me as well and I am lucky that both my children do all the hard work for me.

I have had it for 7 years and I am sorry to say it would cripple me. The jerking would irritate all the tender points and your muscles would constantly be tense. Everyone is different and has different degrees, maybe try it in small doses. Good Luck and God Bless
