Zebras are very resilient, they have the ability to tolerate heat possibly more than any other mammal. Their stripes cause heat to be absorbed at different rates over the surface of the body thereby creating convection currents that help to keep the zebra cool. Zebra graze quite happily in the heat of the day when most other animals have found a place in the shade. Zebras are also very playful, if you go horse-riding in the bush they will run along with you just for the fun of it.
