Making cast nets is quite time consuming and best bought from the market. It may require to make more than 5,000 knots. First you will need to buy two spools of cotton. The cotton will be smooth and silky and has an enormous strength. You will have to make as much as a hundred rows of knots. You can also use Risers, which act as wideners to evenly space out the rows. You can also add pieces of lead around the corners of the net. This enables the net to catch more fishes. To make the net stronger, you can use a double thread to make a net. Mending needs to be done from time to time. The net may wear and tear from each use. First thing to do is to cut the unnecessary tag ends and sow the net with needle and thread.
