If all pets were legal, what would you get?
What could be better than a dog? It's the only member of your family that will drop whatever it's doing and run to meet you when you get home. Adog is a hairy, wagging, welcome committee of one.
If not a dog? I'd have a pet rock. Isaac Asimov told this story...
In a space navy of the future it was forbidden to bring pets back from far planets but the crew used to smuggle them aboard. Mike Sloane brought back a pet rock that he called Teddy. He didn't have to feed it bathe it or groom it. It just sat there.
One day the crew arranged a race between all their pets and when the captain bet on Teddy to win the crew thought he was crazy. And so it seemed for Teddy just sat there.
When the other pets were nearing the finish line the skipper said, "Teddy, if you don't win this race I'm going to feed you into the fuel supply and vaporise you."
Zap! Teddy teleported to the finish line and the skipper scooped the pool.
When asked how he knew he said, "You shoiuld listen to the old aphorisms. Everybody knows that Sloane's Teddy wins the race."

I'll stick to dogs ! Always loyal and loving. Had just about one of everything you can think of but dogs are the best !

I think I would have a baby elephant. It is a rare animal to have
as a pet and it is not
very dangerous. However, I am scared to keep an animal as I feel really sad when it dies. When I
lost my favourite dog, I
was very depressed and
it took me some time to get over it.
Legalities don't change the fact that animals .. Especially wild animals still belong in the wild .. No animal deserves to be locked up in a cage or tied to a chain for anyone's enjoyment...period.
