It really should be. Hunting for food and survival is one thing but to kill something for nothing is totally useless

That depends on how you look at things. I live in a state where hunting is huge. The people who hunt just to hunt, and don't want the meat, are actually hunting to feed the less fortunate people in our state. Hunters for the hungry is what it's called, wonderful program!

Hunting should be banned period in my opinion. Those animals that are being hunted might have babies.

It should be banned and pigeon holed along with poaching of any kind. Trophy hunting .. Or hunting for sport "SHOULD" have far more consequences .. But, the sad reality is ..  The rewards that poachers gain far outweigh the consequences .. Ivory poachers for example, sell the ivory they slaughter for, and get paid well .. Because people still buy it. It is utilized in nick nacks, and accent pieces, games of chess sets, door knobs, geeze .. The list is endless.  ANYONE who buys those products and items made of rhino horns, elephant tusks, food products derived of bear organs, or ANY products derived from wild animal body parts .. Are directly supporting the industry.

The hunting isn't the only thing that should be banned .. I think any and all products that are made with or derived from this source should be banned.

If you remove the demand .. the problem will fix itself.

Animal life should be respected as having originated with God. Thus, we should not kill animals merely for sport or for fun and with wanton disregard for life. (Proverbs 12:10)

Hunting for fun is not always about just killing and slaughter. In Australia, for instance, a great problem is wild cats and rabbits. People hunt them not for meat but for decreasing their growing and damage causing population. If someone gets fun of it is it still bad? After all, they help the country. To maintain an interest for meaningful hunt such sites http://huntingfishingplus.com exist. Don't blame all hunters. Generalizing isn't good.
