Call animal control/ keep cars from running over the dog.
Imagine that you were walking on a busy street alone. You see a dog that is hurt and lying on the side of the road. What would you do?
If possible, see if I could move the dog out of the way, if I could do so safely (for myself and the dog). Call Animal Control. I would not leave until someone came to take care of the dog. If no one came, I would take the dog myself to get help.
