I would have to say that it is meant to keep certain species of animals from becoming extinct due to man's taking over their realms. If we keep building and growing as we are, wild animals will no longer exist. So, if we conserve them as much as possible now, they will always be around for future generations to enjoy. Needless hunting for pure sport must be stopped.
