'Pickles' was the name of the dog who found the lost world cup trophy. The trophy had been stolen in 1966 from a sport and stamps exhibition at Central Hall in Westminster, London.

The trophy was of solid gold and was believed to have been worth thirty thousand pounds then. It was found by Pickles, a mongrel while digging under a tree. A reward of five thousand pounds was paid to the dog's master.

The cup was later stolen again in the 1980s and was never again recovered. It was believed that the thieves made sure no dog would dig out the trophy again—they resorted to melting it. It was known also as the Jules Rimet world cup trophy. The trophy was believed unlucky resulting in the untimely deaths of both dog and master.
