Having a nest of 3 mocking birds right outside my window at work, I watched as the mother bird feed the 3 little ones for two weeks. She worked through the day bring the babies different kinds of insects dropping the food into their mouths. She seem to know which one she feed last Even though they all would open those little mouths wide each time she returned with food. The father bird help feed and watch over them too. The male bird also sit on the eggs at times. The male birds tail was longer than the female's. The male bird also sit on the nest differently than the female did. I watched the nest being built the first week through the little ones leaving the nest at the end of 4 weeks.

Insects, berries and some other fruits, and seeds. I've put bananas in a suit feeder and drew mocking birds almost immediately (along with almost all types of birds common in my area --southwest Texas --except cardinals.) Seeds don't seem high on their priority list, but very occasionally a mockingbird will dally with the seed I put out for the other birds.
