My Dog Has Demodectic Mang, Can I Put Benadryl Cream On Her Skin?

Can I use Benadryl Cream for Sarcoptic mange or Triamcinolone ointment on my Chihuahua while I wait for my order from your company?

Demodectic mange is also called red mange. This type of mange is due to presence of a mites on skin. These mites are usually present on skin of the dogs in small number without any symptoms. This is main reason that this type of mange is not contagious. Red mange can cause symptoms in dogs when there is increase in their number. Reasons of their abnormal increase can be

1. Weak immunity
2. Stress
3. Inherited character

Red mange can be localized or generalized. Generalized red mange can also be of 2 types. Juvenile generalized red mange and adult generalized red mange. Dogs of 6 months to 3 years are usually affected by juvenile generalized red mange.

Benadryl is anti allergy and may able to reduce itching to some extent but this will not kill red mange mites. To kill these mites, insecticides can be use. To have prescription of this insecticide, take your dog to vet.
