I was told by my vet's receptionist that the queen cat feeds the babies until they are about 5 weeks then they can get pregnant and suggested I have mine spayed about 3 weeks after but if push comes to shove apparently the cat can be spayed any time up to being 3 weeks pregnant. I myself, decided to let her have her litter first and she has just given birth to 5 adorable kittens that I don't want to part with, (19th April 09) even though I already have 7, and lost 2 older ones last year, but it's the first time we've had kittens in 17 years!

Our cat just had a kitten 2 weeks ago and she is now calling. When she runs out the door we get her kitten and take it to the door, and when she hears it crying she comes back to it. She is very intent on getting pregnant again so I am calling the vet tomorrow and see if they will go ahead and spay her.

My cat got pregnant again after just six weeks.  I am still trying to find good homes for the first two and as of today I have two more.

Relatively soon, you should make sure that any males around stay away from her if you don't want more kittens, also you can get her fixed so that she doesn't keep getting pregnant. Hope this helps, good luck with you and the kitties.

My cat had two pretty far apart It was the middle of the night when I heard one baby crying. She abandoned one and the poor little thing was ice cold! So I know a lot of time went by. But I could still fell babies in there and she was happy and purring, content with one of the two (another whole story, but happy ending!). I just left her alone for awhile, it was 3:00 am. And she had two more after I got her comfortable and she settled down and relaxed. Every thing turned out fine.

My cat just had 4 kittens almost 3 weeks ago. Can she be in heat already? Also is it true that if a male cat comes in contact with the kittens that he will kill them? This is a outside cat. Thanks
