Why Is My Cockatiel Bird Losing Long Tail Feathers?

My cockatiel just started losing feathers. Is this okay?

He is pulling them out. Do you find the feathers around the cage, and they are whole, but a little bit chewed up? I don't know why they do that, but I suspect it is another form of self-mutilation due to stress. Are you giving him proper diet, including raw veggies, clean water every day, and keeping his cage clean and covered at night? The covering at night seems to be what all the birds I've ever had need badly. A quiet, dark place to sleep.

My bird too is it normal if it lost like 4 feathers from the tail this all started because i took him out of the cage and we have a dog so when i took him out the dog started barking and made him nevous and when i put him back in the cage he sarted pulling out tail feathers easily

Mine too.. Maybe it's because of the season change? She's fine besides that.
