You might want to check his ears and ear canals to see if they are dirty, if they smell funny, or if there are any mites lurking about. Dogs that have ears that fold down are a little more prone to having ear infections or fluid inside of them. There are a lot of wonderful products out there that you can use to help him get over this. You can find them at most pet supply stores. I use a product called M7, which goes into the ear canal - a couple of drops in each ear - it's a fluid going in, but dries to a powder inside the ear and aides in drying out the ear itself.

It is a common problem faced by many dogs. There can be different reasons behind it. If your dog shakes its head for 3 to 5 minutes and then calms down then it means your dog is suffering from Seizures. Sometimes if dog's ears are not clean and there is wax like substance accumulated there than it also creates this problem due to mites' invasion. Not only lack of cleanliness but other internal ear problems also cause a dog's head to shake. It can also have food allergies so try to change its food. Try to clean its ear after consulting and showing it to vet.
