If you want to know why your dog died, you can get a necropsy done by a licensed vet. Talk to your vet about this and see what they say. My guess is that your dog encountered another animal and was in a fight or chewed or swallowed something that was poisonous but I'm only guessing. Sorry that your dog died. That's a hard thing to endure.
