Yep....sounds like your dog has an overgrowth of yeast. Dogs will bite at their feet due to the itching the overgrowth causes. Smell your dog's feet....if they smell bad, then that might be what's wrong. Best to take the dog to the vet for a proper diagnosis. If it turns out that's what it is, try cutting the corn/grain from your dog's diet as it contributes and enhances yeast growth. You can also feed your dog about 1/2 cup of yogurt a day to help keep yeast growth under control.
My dog who is a shihpoo(shih Tzu poodle mix) is eating her feet like CRAZY! I have tried spraying her feet with anti-itch spray and putting socks on her feet but its not helping. Does anyone know how I can stop her from itching so bad?
Is it possibly contact dermatitis associated with an allergy?
Might be time for evaluation by a vet.
There could be any number of reasons why she is doing this .. From a sliver or even matted hair inside and inbetween the pads of her feet to a compulsive behaviour caused from stress. If you can't figure it out .. It's time to see your vet.
