Animals get there energy from plants or other animals who got there energy from the sun. So the answer is sun. If you look at the food pyramid it will show you. Plants get the energy from the sun, an animal eats the plant, another bigger animal eats the smaller animal and the sun has then gone through the plant to an animal to a bigger animal then back into the ground when that animal dies.
