My kitten is 3 weeks old and her hind legs drag but are bendable. She basically moves with her front paws. And doesn't seem to be in pain. She has a big belly and it seems as though shes dragging it . Her hind legs look like frog legs. She had 2 premature siblings that died.Your advice would be appreciated, please help!

Had the same problem with our cat, brought her to the vet, (she did not fall, had no injuries, etc.)
the vet just gave her B-Complex tablets twice a day for two weeks. It was like a miracle, she was back to normal within a few days. But when we stopped giving her the vitamins, she started dragging her legs again. The vet said just continue for a month. So ok again. Its been two years now and she never had that problem again. But we have since switched  to syrup, she got tired of swallowing the tablets I guess. Just ask your vets for the correct dosage. Hope that this would help.

My kitten is 5,5 weeks old, today morning she started to be very loud, sound like in pain, I went to see what happened and she was dragging her hind on floor and screaming in pain, I assumed that she felt of furniture or something. I took her to vets and they did x-ray, they thought is her spine, but likely it wasnt damage to spine. Uffff... They scared me that I need to put her down, well, good enough her spine is fine, they think that she bruised her on back, and her nerves doesnt work propely at moment, they said to wait 2 days and see how she is doing, they gave her shot of seroids and some vitamins. She is at home, she is trying to play as her sisters, but she is very weak, she doesnt want to eat, she is very quiet :( It's my favourite kitten and I hope she will be fine. Due to me working all weekends I do not have control on what she is doing, so is very hard for me to keep an eye on her to do not jump on sofa or other things. I am worried but I believe she will be fine. She can walk slowely, sometimes she loose control but still she is trying. I have red that it takes up to month to full recovery!!! Hope it would not take so long with my kitten :)

Please take your cat to a vet to get this problem assessed. Inability to use hind legs usually results from some nerve damage, usually in the spinal column. If the cat has been hit by a car, or kicked, or stepped on, this is likely to occur. It could be temporary or permanent.

If your kitten is 5 weeks, it may not have much hair on its body causing its body temperature to drop. Young kittens like yours need to be kept approximately at 96 degrees Fahrenheit. I suggest that you keep your temperature up and it should clear up in no time. It may also be startled by new surroundings so make sure he feels at home! Hope this helps! :D ------Aimee Brooksbank------

With no further information as to the age or condition of your pet I would seriously recommend you get it to the vets. It could have been injured by a vehicle, fallen out of a tree etc. Please get it seen to as soon as possible.

The kitten def. Needs to be seen by a vet, has it fallen out of a tree? Off some furniture? Hit by a car? A child injure it? It needs medical attention , right now. As in yesterday it should have been looked at.
