A carabao is covered in skin with quite long grey or black hairs over the whole of it - and it is huge!

Caribou is a sub species of the water buffalo and can be found in Malaysia, the Philippines, Guam and Indonesia. They are very popular on farms as they can pull a plough or a cart containing produce to be taken to market to sell.

Luckily, they are quite docile although they do give out a rather nasty snort if they are surprised. That said, with the size of these, if we came face to face I think it is me who would be surprised!

The carabao has no sweat glands, so it lies in mud all day to cool down and to keep insects at bay. Being happy in mud is lucky as they are at home in the mud filled paddy fields while the rice is being ploughed.

Apparently their milk is nice too but that comment is not from personal experience!
