Spiders are venomous creatures, rather than poisonous ones, as they contain poison in their fangs and not in their bodies. So, according to that definition, the most venomous spider is the Funnel-Web spider, which is found in Australia.

What is the most poisonous spider in the world?
  • Funnel-Web spiders (which are a shiny black), are highly-aggressive, and their bite injects a deadly toxin. This attacks the victim's nervous system, inducing vomiting and numbness that - if not treated by the prompt administration of anti-venom - may prove fatal.
  • They are mainly ground-dwellers who make burrows, and come out to hunt at night.
  • There are a number of other venomous spiders like the Black Widow spider found in North and South America. The Brazilian Wandering Spider is found mainly in Australia, along with eight other dangerous species.
  • Contrary to popular belief, the Daddy Long Legs and the Tarantula are not the most poisonous spiders in the World.

Daddy long legs - but their mouths can't bite because their fangs are too weak.
