A whole multitude of problems could cause a cat's eye to become pinkish in color and to water excessively. These could range from a small injury picked up in a fight, or a more serious issue with your pet.

If you're very concerned about the state of your cat's eye, or if the condition of the eye has deteriorated vastly over a short period of time, then should take your animal to a veterinary practice.

A vet will be able to undertake a detailed and thorough examination of your cat's eye, and should be able to start treating the problem straight away.

My cat's eye is red and watering - what could be causing this?
  • Feline respiratory infections: This condition can cause problems with a cat's eyes, and could lead to the onset of a more serious condition.
  • Conjunctivitis: Also known as pink-eye, this condition can cause the eye to turn pink and to water.
  • Corneal disorders: Problems with the internal aspects of your cat's eye will again lead to the aforementioned symptoms.

It could be a scratch, or an infection. It sounds more like an infection.

I think you should take the kitty in to be seen. The sooner the better, because some infections can travel through the body extremely fast in cats.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you and the kitty.
