Do Teddy Bear Hamsters Hibernate?

Hamsters do not hibernate like bears, but they can hibernate if their environment is too cold.  They can often be mistaken for being dead because they look so still and do not respond to stimuli.  However, you can see that they are breathing according to the twitching of their whiskers even though their respiration rate is very slow.  If your hamster is hibernating, warm the room more because domestic hamsters have no biological reason to hibernate.
