How Old Are Baby Hamsters When They Open Thier Eyes? When Do I Need To Seperate The Sexes? And One Last Question, Will The "Father" Hampster Attack The Other Male Hampsters If I Put Them All In The Same Cage?

I am a breeder, and all of these answers are wrong I'm afraid. The father is a great helper, will not eat them or harm them. They don't open their eyes until after they have their fur and are up and walking about. This is between 2 and 3 WEEKS! If you don't believe me you can call any pet store. I am currently employed at one as well.
Just thought I would put this out there.

They will usually open there eyes between 1 1/2-3 weeks of age. And you have to separate them by gender in at least 3-5 weeks because they arent sexually mature and could hurt themselves and/or the babies. And then you may need much more cages because hamsters (unless dwarf) are VERY territorial and can end up killing each other. Syrian especially.

I have currently a hamster with a litter. They open their eyes roughly between days 10-12 (so around 2 weeks). Also keep the father in only if you want more babies, as dwarf hamsters will automatically mate again as soon as delivery is done.

Furthermore, I assume that you are talking about dwarf hamster. If it is a syrian, get the father away immeadetely. For he will kill the babies.

Seperate the babies when they are three weeks old, but you can wait for an extra week if necessary.

They should open their eyes at about two weeks. The father should stay in the cage with his family, as he is a great help to the mother. He will help keep the pups warm and put them back into the nest if they crawl out. Daddy should always stay.
I would also like to know how to tell the males from females because my hamster has 8 day old pups and I have no idea what to do when it comes time to separate them by gender!

Baby hamsters do not typically open their eyes until they are between 12 and 16 days of age.  Sure hammies are probably just fine.  If in doubt you can always take them to a vet that has experience with pocket pets.  Do they seem fine otherwise?  Cute names for the parents by the way!

I'm not a expert on baby hamsters considering mine just had babies 2weeks ago so.. My babies just opened there eyes a few days ago and they were born about 2 weeks ago so I amusing 2weeks is when they will open... I read online that at as early as 6 weeks they can breed so as soon as that rolls around I would separate them or you'll have more!!!  Hope I helped you some!

Thanks! I wasn't sure because the father has been in the same cage as the momma hamster his whole life with out problems, and when I bought them they came out of a cage with a bunch of other hamsters too. I thought it might be different because of that.

Well actually if you have a syrian or teddy bear hamster then the dad should not be in the cage because it will eat the babies and even if there are no babies the girl will always attack the boy now if you have a dwarf hamster then it is okay I would no because I breed my teddy bear hamster Sugar.  I hope I helped!!! :)

I brought a set of hampsters at different times. I was told both were female come 2 find out that was not true after I started seeing little things around the cage yes babies yall. The 1st couple of litters were 8-9 pups that would always die or come out deformed. About 3 1/2 weeks ago see had 2 pups who have survived and r doing well. One seems 2 have a eye that is not fully opened but the little live wires. I can not tell the sex and wonder if they need shots

They will open their eyes when their about a week old. When the babies are born the father should be remove immediatly because they can hert the babies. You should semporate them in about two to three weeks the sexes.

Well generally the hamster baby dog opens their eyes in 3 to 4 days. You can separate them if they are of same sex when they are at least 4 months old. Well it depends usually hamsters does not attack on same breed so you can keep them in the same cage.
