Fish do not have eyelids and are not capable of blinking. However, sharks are the only fish that are able to blink with both eyes. Sharks possess and upper and lower eyelid.

Most fish do not have eyelids and cannot blink, but there are a few fish that do blink. Some plecostomus species can blink. It is disputed as to whether fish can sleep or not because if they do, they obviously have to do it with their eyes open.

Apparently they have a thin film which is almost transparent that will brush across their eyes, like blinking to clean the eyes
