I think it could very well be that she is adjusting to her new home. How is she doing now. Get some cat toys for her to play with. It is always a good idea to take a kitten to the vet for a checkup when you 1st get them. Some vets will give a free checkup

You might just have to hand feed your cat or may change its food, it might not like the food you are giving it.

How old is the kitten? What kind of food are you feeding it? Try a different kind, one made for kittens and add a touch of cream- not too much just enough to tickle it's taste buds.

I rescued a little kitten and I fed her milk through a surrenge thing that I got from the pharmacy, just for a few days, she got up her strength but still wasnt eating much on her own.  I put a can of tuna in front of her and she loved it.  Just as long as she was eating something, until she gets a little better and can eat her dry food.

To stop the crying, to need to cuddle it and let it know your there for it. Get some toys to comfort it. Better yet, another cat.
