Below are a small number of tips and guiding principle to keep in mind while planning to have a new peacock.
Space: it is recommended to have at least 100 square feet area for a bird. Males needs a lot space as compare to hens because peacock has long tail as compare to peahen.
Shelter and Protect: Peacock is a strong bird but need wind and rain/snow proof shelter. Peacock requires a place where they feel warm and can keep them self dry.
Roosts: Mostly they roost at night. So there should be proper place where they roost, desirable with in the shelter. Roosts must be 3 to 4 feet above the ground. Its good to have high but all depends upon the space.
Cover: Regardless of the size of peacock they are excellent flyer, so it is important to cover the pen, net is very good for covering purposes.
Proofing: make sure that there is no dangerous thing around the pen which can harm the peacock. If they get into the pen then it can be bad news. Try proof the pen against these dangers. The holes in the wire should be small so that nothing dangerous thing can pass through that. Try to use net in order to cover the wire for extra protection.
