Maybe she had a hair ball, or she may have something caught in her throat. Checking with your vet is probably the best way to find out. If she has something like thread or string caught in her throat, it could be quite serious. When my George was a kitten, he ate some thread and needed to be operated on -- many $$$$! The vet said eating thread and string was the #1 killer of kittens.
